England, supported by Audi, put on a convincing performance to win the Coronation Cup on Cartier International Day 2010 at Guards Polo Club. They were 6-1 up against the EFG International-sponsored New Zealand team at half-time and, although the visitors rallied in the second half – thrilling the packed grandstands with a goal to level in the sixth – some sharp shooting from the Tomlinson brothers assured England of a 9-7 victory. This win defied the blood chilling traditional Maori Haka on The Queen’s Ground before the game began… |

Spectators were treated to a fast, exciting and open game of polo at Cirencester Park on Sunday afternoon as Beaufort met Tayto in the final of the Ladbrokes.com Queen Mother Trophy. A ½ goal advantage to Beaufort meant that there could not be a fifth chukka but that was the only certainty of the whole game as it remained close throughout and could have gone either way up until the last second. The Al Habtoor Royal Windsor Cup Final Sunday 20 June 2010 Los Locos’s Clare Tomlinson received the Al Habtoor Royal Windsor Cup from HM The Queen today (Sunday) after defeating Chris Mathias’s Clarita 9-8. However this was not the first time that this influential player has received such an honour. Her Los Locos team won the leading 15-goal competition in both 1980 and 1981. This year Clare was playing alongside her youngest son, the England international Mark Tomlinson. He created a devastating partnership with his fellow seven-goaler Ignacio Toccalino to give the green and red shirts the edge in the second half of the game… |
